Savvy Citizen: A Gaston County Podcast

Gastonia's social district is up and running in downtown, and we go on a tour, taking you to some of the places where you can stop in for a drink and enjoy this up-and-coming social scene. Field reporter Gavin Stewart hosts. 

On this special Memorial Day episode, we sit down with Tanzy Wallace, second cousin of Tuskegee Airman Marshall Schuyler Cabiness, to talk about the incredible life of a man who was the first Black man to earn a pilot's license in Gaston County, flew missions in Europe during World War II, and would marry the granddaughter of Booker T. Washington. 

Habitat for Humanity of Gaston County is changing lives, one home at a time, and has a special project in the Belmont area that will make a difference on an even grander scale.
