After 17 years with the department, Nancy Brogdon has ascended to the rank of Assistant Chief of Gastonia Police, the first Latina to hold that role. She talks to Savvy Citizen about her humble beginnings as a daughter of immigrant parents in Chicago, connecting with the LatinX community in Gaston County and what it means to her to be a trailblazer for her community.
